In developing the mobile app, we have prioritised a modern digital customer experience and user-friendliness. The app has been designed for easy monitoring of energy consumption. Upon logging in, users can view their personal energy consumption data for both electricity and district heating. A significant update has been made to the app for monitoring solar panel production and net consumption.
15-minute interval readings became visible in the mobile app in October 2023. The app has also been updated to include a feature that calculates the value of energy consumption. The app now also includes outage maps and notices, for example.
User-friendliness has been thoroughly considered in the development of Oulun Energia’s mobile app. In spring 2023, the app was updated with a modern look, along with significant improvements made to its performance and data security. The underlying technology of the application was also completely overhauled.
In the future, the application’s security will be enhanced to support login through strong authentication. User-specific personalisation has been integrated into the app, and further investment will be made in this area moving forward.
