Assistance for the management and tree felling of forests near power lines
Is there a tree growing too close to a power line? We periodically clear the areas around power lines to reduce outages. Nevertheless, landowners may need to cut down trees near power lines. We can help you if the tree you are cutting down can damage a power line or if there is a risk of an electrical accident.
We will assess the need for assistance on a case-by-case basis. You can get help when a tree you are cutting down is too close to a power line and the tree can damage the power line, or if there is a risk of an electrical accident. The minimum distance to a low-voltage power line is two metres, and to a high-voltage power line (medium-voltage), three metres. This refers to the distance from the electrical conductor to a part of the human body, a clearing tool, or the branches of a tree to be felled.
Due to work arrangements, please order the free tree felling assistance at least two weeks before the planned felling day. We monitor, guide, and assist in felling using the usual tools. The actual work is carried out by the customer.

In case of damage
If a tree falls on a power line, the risk of an electrical accident is high. It may also cause a significant outage. The costs of the damage caused by the tree felling are charged to the person who caused the damage, so ask for help in a timely matter if necessary to avoid any risks.
If, despite everything, a tree falls on a power line, do not touch it or the hanging cables due to the risk of electric shock. Observe a safety distance of at least 20 metres with the power lines of a medium-voltage network. A tree conducts electricity to the ground, which can cause an electric shock if you are near it or touch it. Leave the vicinity of the tree immediately by jumping with both feet together, and call our fault service, tel. call+358 8 5584 3222. Ensure that no people or animals can get near the tree that has fallen on the line.
