Oulun Energia is interested in hydrogen economy collaboration in the Oulu Port Green Transition Industrial Area
Oulun Energia Oy aims to create new business around hydrogen. As a member of finnish business-driven Hydrogen Cluster Finland (H2cluster) we promote the development of the hydrogen economy in Finland.
We are already planning to build a hydrogen production plant in Laanila industrial area, Oulu, together with our partner P2X Solutions. According to the preliminary plan, the whole project planned, would include an electrolysis plant with a capacity of up to 100 MW, a carbon capture plant, a hydrogen and carbon dioxide storage, and a further processing plant whose final product could be methane or methanol, for example.
The Oulu region has a very strong energy infrastructure, a developing electricity and district heating network, and a lot of green electricity available, which together enable the implementation of several similar projects in the area.
The city of Oulu is actively developing a new industrial site, Oulu Port Green Transition Industrial Area, for sustainable, green transition industry such as hydrogen economy. The registration procedure is now open for operators and investors interested in the area. The port area targets a unique entity in Finland, offering excellent future prospects for clean, energy-intensive industry. In addition to the Laanila project, Oulun Energia is interested in new hydrogen economy collaboration opportunities also in Oulu Port Green Transition Industrial Area.
We are happy to discuss the topic with parties participating in the registration and evaluation procedure:
