An event for the whole family invites you to visit the Hupisaaret Islands and the trout – the fish pass observation room is open on Saturday 2 October.
The fish pass observation room opens its doors on Saturday 2 October from 3 p.m.–7 p.m., when the trout spawning night event, organised jointly by the Natural Resources Institute Finland and the operators of the Hupisaaret area, takes over the Hupisaaret Islands. The event is free of charge.
On the day of the event, there will be some activities for the whole family in the Hupisaaret area, from live music to various workshops. Oulun Energia will participate in the event by reopening the doors of the fish pass monitoring room to all interested parties at 3 p.m.–7 p.m. Our expert will be there to talk about the activity of the fish pass and the lives of the fish.
The observation room is located next to the Merikoski dam bridge, behind the Hotel Lasaretti. Access to the room is free of charge, taking into account safety distances. We recommend wearing face masks in the observation room.
Find out more about the fish pass and its significance on our Merikoski fish pass webpage. More information about the Hupisaaret spawning night can be found on the Facebook event page.
