The mapping operations that will be transferred to Geomatikk in the beginning of 2025 include locating the electricity network within terrain and construction sites, as well as storing mapping data in information systems. This process ensures high-quality and safe management of the electricity network. The Oulun Energia Sähköverkko experts who have worked in mapping operations will transfer to Geomatikk as existing employees in the business transfer. 

The business transfer is due to Oulun Energia’s updated strategy and the Group’s change negotiations that took place in the spring. These negotiations focused on restructuring and cost-saving measures to enhance operational efficiency, improve productivity, flatten the organisational hierarchy, and increase the agility and flexibility of operations.

“In the future, Oulun Energia Sähköverkko Oy wants to focus on developing its core business operations, which include asset and network management. Mapping operations, which are largely carried out in the field and on construction sites, will no longer be part of the company’s core business operations. They require their own specific expertise, which Geomatikk has. We see this as the best possible solution for all parties,” shares Anna Pasma, managing director at Oulun Energia Sähköverkko Oy.

The transferred employees will begin performing mapping operations for Oulun Energia Sähköverkko under Geomatikk.
