For decades, Turveruukki Oy has procured peat energy from the surrounding region. As peat production declines, the production areas are transitioning through a post-production care phase to after-use. Forests are growing in former peat production areas, and biodiversity-increasing wetlands have also been built in the areas.
For contractors
Turveruukki Oy is responsible for the production and delivery of peat energy to Oulun Energia’s power plants. Our company engages contractors for comprehensive peat production management, restoration of production areas, and loading and transport services. The contractors also carry out post-production work in the production areas.

Turveruukki leases the land it owns for wind and solar power projects, for example. The areas may also be sold.
