Why is the district heating invoice higher in winter than in summer?

During the heating season, the invoices are naturally higher than in summer, when district heating is mainly needed to heat domestic water.

All district heating measurements are remotely read and the invoices are based on actual consumption. The invoice amounts vary according to consumption in the same way they do for electricity invoices.
